PURPOSE: In this section, explain what you were supposed to learn and what you were supposed to do.

The purpose of this project was to learn about the Aztec cultures. In order to learn about the Aztec culture, we had to create a mural contain Aztec symbols and cultural stuff. We had to make a mural that contains some kind of Aztec culture that we would learn about. In our murals we would create a scene or a picture of the Aztecs or their gods. There were lots of things to create, draw, or trace that were about the Aztecs. Also that the purpose of this project was to learn how we can have Aztecs in our art. It was to help us paint big murals in a learning environment.


WHAT I LEARNED
In this section, tell what information or skills you learned or improved.

I learned a lot about the Aztecs like how they dressed to how they were divided in social classes to why and how they sacrificed. I learned that Aztec men wore a cape and a loin cloth around their waist and that Aztec females wore a skirt and a plain white blouse. I also learned that the Aztecs were divided to the highest of the social class (Emperor) to the lowest of the low (slaves). In this project, I learned how to use paint and to use canvas. I learned that Aztecs priest create and make the sacrifices to the Sun God. Also that sacrifices are done buy the priest cutting open the chest and taking their heart out.

REFLECTION
In this section, reflect on your experience. Did you like the project? Why or why not? How did you do? What would you do differently next time?

I enjoyed this project because I had a good fun group to work with, that also knows how to stay focus. Also because I liked painting because it was a a good experience to make different paints. I also enjoyed this project because I got to do things I would never do like paint or draw for a reason. I feel like I could have done better in this project because I didn't help with the artist statement and also because it was very challenging. Next time, I would help do the artist statement because it was hard to let other people do it. Also I would help paint a lot more because it took a while to finish the whole thing. I would also try to get more pictures in the mural because we didn't have that much.
