Brother, I'm Dying Post #3

Quote #1:
Our new home was a two-bedroom apartment on the sixth floor of a six-story brick building in a cul-de-sac off Flatbush Avenue called Westbury Court.

Response #1:
I think that it shows a lot about how the live right now. It shows that they are living in a pretty small place that they are happy to be in. I think that they should be able to live in a place like this and their lives are going okay.
It relates to me because I live not really in a big house and my house is not so good. Also that we live in a house that keeps us together.
Question #1:
How would this quote relate to you?
Quote #2:
In the summer of 1983, when I was fourteen and Bob was twelve years old, Uncle Joseph came to New York for a medical checkup.

Response #2:
I think that it shows what a life they were having. This shows that people will need to have checkups every once in a while and it might not always turn out good. Also that it shows when they were young and what happens to him.
I can relate to this because I have had many checkups before. Also because I am a lot like Bob just being young and having fun with it.
Question #2:
How do you feel about Uncle Joseph?

Quote #1:
A lot of people nowadays live in apartments. Edwidge's family's apartment is too small for them, because there are three bedrooms with six people living there. At least now Edwidge and Bob are living in better condition.

Question #1:
My dad lives in a cul-de-sac, so that is pretty much the only way I can relate to this quote. My mom's house has three bedrooms, which is similar to the two-bedroom apartment Edwidge and her family live in.

Quote #2:
I enjoyed this part of the book, because Edwidge and Bob were reunited with their uncle after being separated from him for two years. It is always nice when family members get together again after being separated for a long period of time. The fact that Uncle Joseph had to come to America for his medical checkup told me that his checkup was serious. He could easily have gone to a doctor in Haiti.

Question #2:
I think he could try harder to stay in touch with Edwidge and Bob. He writes letters, but they are directed towards his brother. Since Uncle Joseph can not talk anymore he should have visited Edwidge and her family sooner, because they can no longer talk over the phone.
