From Haven to Home:
In the exhibit "From Haven to Home" I learned not a lot in it, but it was fun. I learned a little bit about the Jewish history in the museum. I learned that the Jewish has a lot of traditions that make them. They had a torah ark intel which is where they get their readings most of the time. I found that the pictures were very interesting because it shows the Jewish religion in a lot of different ways. The purpose of this exhibit is to learn about the Jewish religion and to understand the religion. I also think that it was to know more about the Jewish religion and not to disrespect the Jewish religion. I also think it was about not to discriminate against the Jewish religion because they went through a lot of hardships. They also went through a lot of big changes to their religion. I think that the point of the exhibit was to find out the Jewish’s history that makes the difference in the United States and the world. I also learned that the Jewish are a proud happy religious group that is hard to penetrate and are very needed in the society of the world.
Children of Immigrants:
1) Chinatown New York 2000
I Chose this picture because it stands out to me in many different ways. The children in the picture look like they are new to Chinatown and they are depressed or very confused on what is happening. They are very weird and makes me feel like crying for their lives.
3) SDCCD 2007 Family Histories Essay Program Grand Prize Winner Mark Sena, Philippines-Miramar College
The Home of the Brave
I chose this essay because it shows so much details and shows how his life was before he came from the Philippines. Also because it shows his life and shows the difference between his life in the Philippines and his life in the United States. It shows a lot about what his life is like.
